I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Washington.
My research focuses on issues in ethics and moral psychology. I advocate for a functionalist and pluralist approach to theorizing the nature of blame. I also think that contemporary moral psychology is still too guilt-centered, and I argue for the moral values of other overlooked emotions such as shame and embarrassment. Outside ethics, I write about intellectual humility, intellectual pride, and the epistemic role of intuitions.
Before joing UW, I worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Salzburg in Austria. I received my PhD in Philosophy at the University of California, San Diego in 2022.
